I am writing this just moments after narrowly escaping the big house. Some of you may remember a small fender bender I experienced this past fall. I was given a ticket but never quite got around to paying it. Of course, being the responsible citizen I am, I realized that this meant that if I got pulled over it would mean jail time (note: I spend a fair amount of time on Utah County Inmate Search. It's a good time, check it out!).

Fast forward to tonight. I had just gotten home from work and was changing into my pjs, getting ready for a great night of tv watching. There's a knock at the door, and it happens to be a cop. No, not a hot cop. A real cop, holding my warrant in his hands, asking if I had 300 cash to bail myself out of jail.

Lucky for me, he was from Spokane, saw that I was from Coeur d'Alene, and felt a little hometown connection. He gave me a little note with his name and my fine amount, and told me to come downtown to pay it sometime before 10 tomorrow night. I like to call this my "Get Out of Jail Free" card.

Take heed, bloggers. Apparently the Provo Police department has taken care of every domestic dispute, DUI, noise disturbance, and meth lab....they are seeking out the real outlaws now!

PS: Do we think it would be appropriately funny if I showed up with my bail in all ones? Just wondering...

What a priceless night. I can still picture your face as I walked in on the encounter. Complete confusion. haha. Tonight is going to be amazing. LOST, Apprentice, and paying off a warrent in $1s.

So it looks like you and Nyles have more in common than you think. I cant believe I work so closely with a couple of fugitives.

He probably just saw you in your footsie pajamas and just couldn't control himself...did you check the back of the paper to see if he left his number?

Ok, So this same sort of situation happened to me minus the house visit. I was pulled over on two separate occasions and had to post bail-once for $500 i think b/c I had a couple of past due tickets. However I never got a personal visit from the cops. I am somewhat offended. All ones would be fabulous.

So Eric said that what the cop did is totally illegal and you should report him....I don't know why but talk to Eric.

Just when I thought Provo cops were doing anything worthwhile you clear the air! Showing up personally to arrest the serious criminals like yourself make me know my tax dollars are well spent!
