Jenna blogged "Obscure Things You May Not Know." Laura blogged "Reasons Why I Suck." Here is my response (I love being tagged!):
Reasons Why I Suck (That You May or May Not Know)
1. I have terrible telephone habits. I hate listening to my voicemail, but I also won't call you back unless you leave a message. I am also beyond miserable at actually returning calls, and not really for any specific reason- standard time for me to call you back is 3-4 days, if at all. I am also a professional phone call screener- I'm not even going to think about answering if your number is blocked or if there's a good show on tv.
2. My procrastination has hit an all time low. I still wait until the last possible minute, but nowadays if I am faced with "either finish this project to pass the class or get some sleep," there is a very good chance that sleep may win. I have lost all sense of urgency.
3. I hate a messy house, but I'm not a naturally clean person. I hate going to bed, but I love sleeping. I hate waking up early, but I love getting things done.
4. I have a warped self-image. I think I'm a better singer than I really am. I think I'm smarter than I really am. I also exaggerate my height, weight, hair length, eating habits, personal skills, fashion sense, income, dating life, and so on....but only to myself, not other people.
5. I have terrible taste in entertainment. I love Britney Spears, Olsen twins movies, and mtv reality shows. And I make no apologies for that.
6. I am incredibly supportive of the Green movement, but I can't bring myself to stop buying my Sonic drinks in the styrofoam cups. If I'm going to die from global warming, I'd prefer to have a chilly drink in my hand.
7. I still sleep with my childhood blanket. During the day, I hide it behind my pillows.
8. If I am given a choice between a new outfit or paying my bills on time, I will almost always pick the former.
9. I have this horrible disorder where I feel the need to out-do people on inappropriate jokes/references; I am constantly reminding myself to suppress my inner frat boy. Nothing makes me blush, and I take great glee in making others blush. This has gotten me into trouble quite a few times.
10. I will sometimes isolate myself from humanity for no good reason other than to have alone time. On a Friday night, I have been known to put on sweats, do some laundry, and climb into bed around 9. (On a related side note: I hate hate hate it when people make a big deal out of Friday nights- who cares? Friday is not the only day to ever do something. If I want to go to dinner on a Tuesday, I'll go. I've never said, "Hm. I would go, if only it were Friday..." I digress)
11. I have loved my time at BYU and get really mad when people rip on BYU/Provo/Utah...if you hate it so much, just leave. That having been said, walking around BYU has occasionally made me the most bitter person in the world. I sometimes feel the urge to run around in a tube top and miniskirt, openly mocking PDA couples and shouting liberal politics from the rooftops.
12. I have the world biggest sweet tooth, and could eat candy and dessert all day, every day. And my love of junk food does not discriminate- I am just as pleased with creme brulee as I am with a Twix bar.
13. I get bored halfway through most of my personal projects-- painting, decorating, planning for holidays, sewing, etc. Sometimes I manage to finish things, but I do have a whole collection of partially completed ideas.
14. I always wait until "crisis time," as my mother calls it. I leave the house at the last possible minute, drive my car until the gas light comes on (and then some), stay up until I can hardly keep my eyes open, get a haircut only if every hair on my head is ragged, replace batteries only after the light stops blinking and they don't work at all, get my oil changed at 3500 miles/4 months instead of 3000/3.
15. I don't remember people's names who I should, but I can tell you all sorts of details about people I've never met. The internet is a great stalking tool, and I make no apologies for it. If you don't want people to read it, don't post it on the world wide web.
16. I, like Laura, am very selective in the children and animals that I care about.
17. I have been known to throw a fit from time to time, although my fits are less of a kicking-and-screaming sort of event and more of a "I'm going to be quiet and sullen and awkward but refuse to talk about it with you" kind of thing. After a three hour nap, I'm totally over it.
18. Hours and hours can pass as I aimlessly browse the internet for any and everything- news, furniture, shoes, jewelry, airfare, recipes, blogs, and so on. And I never actually buy anything. Ever. ("Shopping is my cardio!")
19. I was once called the Queen of "I don't want to play anymore," meaning that I can dish it out, but I can't take it very well. Whatever "it" is.
20. I can spend 48 consecutive hours (woohoo for real weekends, btw) accomplishing nothing but sleeping, internet surfing, and tv watching. The gross part is that I don't feel at all guilty about it.

I know all of these things (some a little too well) and I still love you. I want to play! Love, me.
Love it. I have so many reasons why I suck. It's great. what's great about it is not hiding it and being out with it. I too am a frat boy at heart and can't help but think of a gross joke or phrase to go with anything anyone says. I'm going private with our blog this week so will you leave me your email or email it to me at kitkassbar@yahoo.com. Thanks girl!
I loved this post for so many reasons, and can't help but shamelessly comment on so many things.
#2-Totally the same! Didn't even realize I was like that till you worded it that way.
#5-Guilty. I almost always feel the opposite about movies than everyone else. Case in point: I effing hate LOTR and Harry Potter.
#10-AMEN! SOOOO need alone time, and totally over "having to do something" just because it's the weekend, have been for years.
#11-Thank you. It was so annoying to hear my fellow Californians complain about having "NOTHING" to do in Provo. Then they'd come home and on a Friday night go to dinner at a random chain restaurant, see a movie, and maybe play cards later. Yeah, because you TOTALLY can't do those things in Provo. Oh yeah, and there's definitely not any malls in the Provo/Salt Lake area. I would have loved to see those kinds of people survive in Rexburg where there was like 0.2 restaurants because we didn't have a liquor license, and the nearest mall was 30 minutes away where the department stores included: Dillards, JC Penny, and Sears. Classy. I'm not complaining, but just don't say there's nothing to do, when in reality, yeah, you don't have the beach buuuuuuut that's about it.
#18-You could totally be an assistant in NY, this is how I spend half my days at HSBC (and I've gotten exceptionally good at it considering the firewalls block my email, facebook, myspace, and now blogger.)
#20-Perfection. Especially now that I live in NY. It's so freakin exhausting by the time the weekends come (especially in the winter) these are the only kinds of weekends I like.
wow that was a long post. And I suck because I didnt read it all it was so long but it was the thought that counted right? Well we all miss you at Nordys. So ever since you got your new job, your blog posts seem to be few and in between. Maybe it just seems that way because I dont see you all the time anymore. Or maybe you actually have a life, unlike the rest of us, and dont have time to blog daily.
Really...you have a sweet tooth? Couldn't guess that from the 4 desserts we shared at Kneaders. (That is for calling me out on facebook for eating a whole pizza in one sitting.)
i can't help it.
i'm a stalker.
and you're hilarious, a perfect way to pass my time at work.
wow, I completely knew most of these things about you! Not the baby blanket thing though...you are really good at hiding that thing! Love the whole list!

I agree with Jessica...I think your new job is making you neglect your blog. But unlike Jessica I did read your whole blog and loved it. I started to keep track of the things I do too (like choice surfing the net and sleeping over homework.) but then there got to be too many and your blog was long and I lost track.
BTW! I totally missed you yesterday, I looked forlornly (who knows how to spell that word?) at women's shoes after a day's work and waited for you to say, "Really? BP? Come on get some good stuff." And you weren't there to say it. :( You are missed.
LOL! Also, drinking diet coke is just good sense. Don't apologize for that. However, maybe you should pull out your trucker's mug from 7-11. Do you think sonic would fill that thing up?
Im obsessed with you!
Wow you are popular 12 comments- I am not surprised. All these are reasons why I love you (we are much alike). I really wanted to comment to let you know that BR now has short sleeve cardigans not the same but I thought you would be interested.
