Once I was at the movies in Salt Lake with some friends. One friend (we'll call him Michael) was saying that he was hungry and needed to grab something to eat from the concession stand. I made a quip about him grabbing a diet Coke and a pickle and was met with a blank stare and certainly no laughter. We then got into a lengthy debate regarding whether or not movie theaters sell pickles.
NOW, I have never even entertained the idea of purchasing a large dill pickle from the movie theater, but I swear they are everywhere. At the last movie I went to I discussed this with the concessions manager, who confirmed that pickles can be found across the nation and are actually quite good sellers.
Via comment, please leave your support for either side of this great dispute...am I crazy, or are pickles usually sold at theaters???

Take my eyes, but not the shirt!
Eeeeee... Not so sure 'bout that one.
Depends what "usually" means. If you mean usually found in Utah theaters and other states...then yes. All states? No. I have never seen pickles at any theater in CA.
i don't know if they sell or not, but... why would anyone ever buy one? GROSS.
i am on team pickle...
*not team eat pickles but team there are pickles in theaters!
aaron here.
now, some people (dame elizabeth danner, for example) are of the opinion that "pickles are cucumbers soaked in evil". while this may be pure hyperbole, a few aspects of pickles indicate a connection to the underworld.
1. pickles are bumpy, much like the nose of a witch. this is a clear indication that pickles have been marked by black magic.
2. the prominant 'crunch' sound of biting into a pickle is underscored by a sinister squeaking noise. obviously, this is a call to the pickle's brother-in-arms the bat, who has long been recognized as the harbinger of death and despair.
3. pickles have been eaten by the patrons of not just any movies. pickle juice is always found soaking theater floors after movies dealing with the occult; from the original dracula in 1931, to the exorcist in 1973, to the shining in 1980, to kung fu panda in 2008.
without a doubt, pickles are sold in movie theaters. where better for the armies of darkness to gather their strength and begin their quest for world domination, than in the nations theaters- guarded only by the week, the geek, and the mildly handicapped?
it's time to start believing, my friends.
I say no. I haven't too paid much attention to know if they do or don't. But, when I worked at the movie theater in high school, we didn't sell pickles. Nachos, yes (THANK YOU!), but no pickles.
Lucas and i are big fans of pickles so lets hope that it is true. I am going to the movies in a couple of days so I will research Chicago theaters and report back.
Yes, I know this for a fact...a man in San Diego once ate a pickle sitting behind me and I had to move seats because of the smell... Final answer: pickles can be found in movie theaters across the united states.
Yes, they are sold at theaters...I have never purchased one. I've been with a friend once who did.
