First of all, most shows are starting back up this month. Below you will see a calendar of those premiere dates (I somewhat borrowed this from here, so if you think some shows missing from my version then you might want to check it out).
There are a lot of old reliable shows coming back, a lot of shows I refuse to watch, a lot of new shows starting, and a number of shows that I am thisclose to aborting.

Melrose Place: never watched the original, but I love the new 90210 (in the way that you love a lifetime original movie)...so why not? Interested to see Ashley Simpson back on the television (remember when she was in 7th Heaven?). Also, they use a Britney song on their promo ad and have the skankiest slogans ever ("Menage a Tues"? "Tuesday's the new humpday"? I mean....come on!), which means I'm totally on board.
The Beautiful Life: Mostly I'm excited to see what Marissa Cooper's been up to lately
Community: Joel McHale? Sold. Nothing more needs to be said.
Modern Family: Don't know a ton about this show, but the preview made me laugh hysterically.
Cougar Town: First of all, I love anything having to do with Cougars and I can't wait until I become one. And also I love Courtney Cox Arquette.

Desperate Housewives: The plot is far fetched and predictable, but they're still playing themselves off as a legitimate drama. I've watched this show religiously but last season I left the season finale on my dvr and still haven't watched it.
Parks and Recreation: I love everyone in this show, but I watched the first two episodes and just couldn't get into it. I'm giving it one more shot this season.
Dancing with the Stars: I've started to watch like three seasons, but never made it all the way through. I just feel like I need to watch just to know what all of the celeb magazines are talking about.
Hell's Kitchen: Used to watch, didn't watch last season, but I just might try it out again this year.
The Hills: Over Speidi, over Audrina, already over Kristen...but I still love Lo. I'm torn.
Real World Cancun: I have been a RW die hard since I was a mere tween and had to secretly record the show and watch it when my mom was gone. But the drunken, silly antics are just getting...boring. Is this what it means to grow up?
VH1 Dating Shows: is EVERY show on vh1 some sort of a dating show spin off? Loved Flav, loved NY, loved Bret Michaels...but there are just way too many now. I'm over it.

FNL: watched seasons 1-3 over the summer and can't wait to be reunited with Lila and Tim. I miss my Texan friends.
Chuck: this show is delightfully silly, and I am really interested to see how they shake up this next season.
LOST: I mean, do I need to say anything? This show confuses me in ways I've never been confused before. How's it going to end???
Kardashians: I'm sort of getting my fix of these Armenian beauties via "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami," but I still miss Kris and Bruce and the rest of the gang.
FOTC: To be honest, I mostly watch this on dvd. But still...
Bravo/MTV Series: Does anyone know if "16 and Pregnant" is coming back for another season?

Grey's: I watched religiously for the first three seasons. But then Izzy went loco and Merideth and McDreamy were back and forth and back and forth and blah blah blah...hate it now.
Private Practice: A Grey's spinoff? No thanks. How is this even still on the air?
True Blood, Vampire Diaries: I saw the first two episodes of TB and literally almost threw up. GROSS. I very well might be the only female in America who is not on board with this whole vampire trend. I don't get it...they are creepy and scary and I don't find the slightest bit of sex appeal in the whole fang look.
Fringe: also freaks me out. Sorry, JJ Abrams. Normally I'm such a fan.
American Idol: also I think I'm the only person in America who doesn't like this show. You know, amature people singing in public....pass.
Family Guy: Ugly animation, and I don't really think that it's appropriate to laugh and encourage that much sass from a baby. IMHO
Ugly Betty: Is it just me, or does that America chick seem like a real beyotch? Also, how did they manage to make an entire series based on the first half hour of "The Devil Wears Prada"?
Californication: I saw the pilot, and I'm sorry, but I am not buying that the nerd from Xfiles is now a super-stud manwhore. Were there no other available actors for this show?
So that's pretty much it. I'm beyond thrilled about having a show to watch every night. For a daily breakdown of what I'll be watching:

Oh my gosh this is the best post ever. I recently added all the premiere dates to my iPhone calendar and felt like the biggest dork. You just totally validated me.
Also, I don't like American Idol either.
Ummm...how do you have time to watch all of these shows? I mean are you going to skip work on Wednesday and Thursday? Or Tivo them and watch them on Friday? or Tivo all of them and skip comercials (that will save you a load of time). Seriously, HOW DO YOU DO IT?
You watch the Daily 10 everyday? Seriously? It's like I don't even know you.
Also, SYTYCD is a Tues/Wed show not a Wed/Thurs show. Stop embarrassing yourself.
Viewing of all shows is made possible by the combination of fast forwarding through commercials (I never watch live tv) and prioritizing-- some shows are watched the day they air, others are saved for slower days (aka- the weekend).
Steven-- I record the Daily 10 and watch it while I get ready each morning so I don't have to pay a lot of attention. And I am mortified that I switched up the SYTYCD days-- I saw that it premiered on on a Wednesday and so I assumed it was a W/Th show. How embarrassing INDEED.
So much to say:
First off thanks for organizing my life, and thanks to Steven for catching your error. Real life saver.
I am not sure about Glee but during this very boring tv summer I have thought about watching the free pilot. A show based on a choir, really.
I used to love dancing with the stars. I even went and saw them live, but I am over it too. It is just the same old thing. I think tivo the results show and fast forward through that then you have enough info to stay up on pop culture.
I can't believe that you just started watching FNL. I have been re-watching it on Net Flix. I miss then too.
Love Chuck, and I have heard rumors it is on the verge of being canceled so we need to rally our friends to watch this show. Plus I have a major crush on him.
Give Californication a chance. I never watched X files, but it is a great show. Plus the actor is actually addicted to sex so it makes the show even more interesting.
I am sad to say I watch Private Practice. It is a terrible show, but I don't have cable. I have tried and cannot stop myself.
I have much more to say, but this comment is too long. Wish we worked together then we could talk all day long about all our tv. Remember when we did. Miss you.
One more thing I hate American Idol, but I tivo it in hopes of staying up on pop culture.
Listen I'm really not okay with you not watching true blood! It IS the best show on! Usually I feel like we are soul mates but with all this true blood bashing combined with the dancing reality shows and amount of MTV (anything worth watching on that network will make it on to the soup) is really making me question whether I misjudged our soul mate status!
It's so great to have someone I trust layout my DVR schedule for me. Meggan, you are always great.
Have you considered giving Dexter a shot?
this is incredible & completely amazing because everyone of these shows is what i watch. i missed gossip girl. how the hELL did this happen? oh yeah i'm in stupid texas with out DVR. kill me now.
i'll be back in a week to the land of no commercials. thank goodness.
I've been meaning to comment on this forever. Katie, I hope you're reading this because I did the EXACT thing with my iPhone the day we met up....RIGHT before I took my iPhone to the Apple store and got a new one. Sad. All that work for nothing! Don't feel like a dork, or at least know you're not alone.
Okay, I've got so much to say and I'm notorious for leaving long comments so I hope you're ready:
-Do you still love Glee? One of my friends from home sings some of the vocals. :) (But I definitely don't like the show, don't say anything!)
-Love the comment "in the way that you love a Lifetime original movie" because I LOVE Lifetime original movies! Haha.
-Community-what did you think? Pretty funny, I think it'll take some time though.
-Love that you can't wait to become a cougar, hahaha.
-Totally with you on Amazing Race, how awesome would that be? But I know I'd suck, I get too emotional in stressful situations and am not good with direction. My friend out here and her mom made it to the finals for last season though (for tryouts.) So cool.
-Just got into Rachel Zoe. LOVE.
-Toddlers & Tiaras was on in the background this weekend. WOW.
-I'm so glad there's another person in the world who loves RW/RR Challenges as much as I do. I don't get why I feel so alone in this??
-DWTS, WHY do people love this show? Ugh.
-The Hills, still love it, don't judge.
-I'm totally with you on Real World, hahaha. I love the "secretly watching." I find myself thinking the same thing, it's weird now that they're younger than us, and just look like idiots most of the time.
-Kardashians "still miss Kris and Bruce and the rest of the gang" Hahahahaha, I'm dying.
-FOTC??? What the heck is this? Ususally I'm good at figuring these things out...
-I cannot say I love you enough for being the lone ranger with me in regards to the baffling love for vampires. Um.....can someone please tell me what is sexy about pale skin, red eyes, dirty hair, and someone who wants to make you bleed? DUMB!!!!!!! Twilight is laaaame. And for 13 year olds.
AI-I also share your dislike. That show is annoying, as is any show that takes up two hours of your life three days a week. What is this, a part time job? Meh...
-Family Guy-hate it! Seriously, so crude and gross, and I'll admit, I have a pretty high tolerance for that sort of thing (I mean come one, I watch Real World.) But I just don't get that show. I feel like only 19 year old boys should like it.
Ugly Betty-Never got the hype.
Whew, I feel better....thanks. :)
